Basic Middle Eastern Percussion with Mark Freeman

Class will include introduction to Middle Eastern percussion instruments and basic, standard rhythms. Core frame and doumbek technique will be a strong focus of the class. Class will include music theory as it pertains to the standard rhythms. It is highly suggested that you bring a Middle Eastern frame drum (tar/def) or doumbek (no djembes please). There will be a couple of extra frame drums and/or doumbeks for drop in students, however those taking the entire session will be expected to provide their own instrument.
