I’m a big fan of Persian percussion instruments. Here is a great video of the Tonbak and Santoor.
Hello everyone. As promised in Friday’s class, I’ve worked up a couple of click tracks you can practice your timing with.
Click track with only the downbeat of 1 at 60 beats per minute.
Malfuf at 60 beats per minute.
Please don’t hesitate to let me know if there are any other rhythms or speeds you would like me to do this for. See you Friday!

In preparation for Raquy coming in a few weeks, I figured I would post one of her exercises.
Put your metronome on the slowest speed. Play one hit on your drum for every click. Try to make it so precise that you don’t hear the metronome at all because the sound of your drum is covering the click!

One of the forerunners of using split finger technique on doumbek.
Thanks Robert!
